Fashion Event @ House of Fraser 14th August

 

 

 

House of Fraser have kindly donated their services to PIPS and we are jointly holding a fashion and beauty event at the Ivory Restaurant, offering exclusive beauty and styling on the Tuesday 14th August from 6.30pm onwards.

Tickets are £20.00 and include a glass of prosecco on arrival, nibbles and a great goodie bag donated by House of Fraser.

All guests on the night will be entered into a prize draw for amazing prizes including:

  • A dress donated by Damzel boutique in House of Fraser
  • ‘Lucky’ bag designed by Terry Bradley
  • I phone covers styled by the great Terry Bradley himself
  • A cut and colour make over package supplied by Bill Harris Hairdressing exclusive to PIPS
  • Marks and Spencer Hamper
  • A beauty hamper donated by the HELP team Belfast

We really hope that all you ladies take advantage of this event as an excuse to leave the humdrum of home on a Tuesday evening and get glammed up and ready to mingle!

As you know we could not operate without your help and all money raised will go towards providing PIPS’ services in the community.

PIPS Corporate Challenge

In 2012 PIPS will move into new premises on the Belfast’s Antrim Road which we will develop into a new community suicide prevention resource.  We will also be extending the services we deliver in order to meet the increasing demand for crisis support and suicide awareness training. We are working with several local businesses to raise money through the PIPS Corporate Challenge.

Will you help PIPS prevent suicides by taking part in our  Corporate Challenge events?

 

This year we will run several fundraising events for staff at local businesses as part of the Corporate Challenge.  The following events are currently open for registration:

  • Europa Abseil on Sunday 17th June (daytime)
  • Lagan Zipline on either Saturday 25th or Sunday 26th August (daytime)
  • Firewalk on Thursday 27th September (evening)

 

You will be asked to raise a minimum of £120 sponsorship if you take part in one of the Corporate Challenge events.  To register for one of these events complete the registration form which can be downloaded here PIPS Corporate Challenge Registration Form

Full Monty Night

If you’re looking for a girls night out and want to support a good cause then get your ticket for PIPS Full Monty at McGrath’s bar on the Cliftonville Road, Saturday 10th March.  Tickets available from PIPS or McGraths.

Bag Packing: Can you help?

We are recruiting volunteers to help us with fundraising bag packs at a couple of supermarkets in Belfast over the next few weeks.  If you would like to come along and help out we would be very grateful!  Please email danielle@pipsprogrammes.com or call her on 02890 805 850 if you are interested.

- Saturday 10th March @ Tesco Royal Avenue from 10am-4pm, could you do a 2-3 hour slot?

- Monday 2nd and Tuesday 3rd April @ Sainsbury’s Forestside from 10am-4pm, 2 shifts available: 10am-1pm and 1pm-4pm

Belfast Marathon 2012: PIPS Run 4 their Lives

Why not join us this year in running the Belfast City Marathon on Monday 7th May 2012?

 By participating you can promote your own mental health by:

-     Exercising (which releases ‘feel good’ hormones)

-     Socialising and being part of a friendly and supportive group of people

-     Gaining a sense of achievement on completion of the challenge

 

Most importantly, by taking part in this event your fundraising money will help towards SAVING LIVES.

 

INTERESTED?

 

Decide how you would like to participate:

-     Walk (9 miles or 26.2 miles) £22

-     Fun Run (3 miles) £11 adults, £9 senior & under 18

-     Relay (5 legs: 3.5, 4.3, 5.3, 6 & 7.1miles- all male/all female or mixed)

NB. You can have between 2 & 5 per team making up all laps. £80 per team

-     Wheel Chair (3 miles) £33

-     Full Marathon (26.2 miles) £33

NEXT, REGISTER

Once you have decided, you need to register to participate in the Marathon. To do this go online www.belfastcitymarathon.com and click ENTER

You will be asked for your name or team name (if you are registering a relay team- you can choose your own team name)

When asked PLEASE SELECT YOUR CHARITY choose the 2nd option

-     (Will you be running in aid of another charity)

Please enter name of Other Charity as: PIPS Programmes Belfast

NB. If you have a full team for the relay- designate a team leader who can register the team.

If you want to run a relay leg, but do not have a team please advise PIPS via email robert@pipsprogrammes.com or call 02890 805850 and we will put you into a team. You can only register once your full team has been filled.

Once you have been registered you will receive confirmation within 7 days along with an information pack.

 

PAY YOUR FEE

There is a small charge to enter the marathon. This is out of PIPS control & is the policy of Belfast City Council. This fee does not go to PIPS but a percentage of this goes to the designated charities of the year. The fee depends on which activity you are participating in (See above for charges)

 

DEADLINE

Final cut-off point for entries will be Friday 6th April 2012. However entries with a late fee of £20 (Marathon Run, Marathon Walk, Team Relay Event and Wheelchair Race) and £5 (Fun Run) will be accepted until Friday 20th April 2012. (This Belfast City Council Policy-not PIPS).

Use your Sponsor form to raise as much money as possible!  

You can also set up your own fundraising page online by going to http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/PIPS_Fundraising and clicking either the run for their lives or walk for their lives option which will direct you to our Charity Fundraising site. Copy & paste this link to get your fundraising going….This is an excellent way to collect money from people who you don’t see regularly for example, family abroad. This facilitates donating online.

MARKETING

We have posters and leaflets to help raise awareness of the event and encourage as many people as possible to run for PIPS. If you would like to help promote this or have any innovative ideas please contact us.

You can also follow us online via Facebook- look for our page PIPS PROGRAMMES MARATHON CHALLENGE- Run 4 Their Lives. Please like this page and post it on your own FB page to encourage your friends to LIKE it. This will help to promote PIPS and the marathon event. www.facebook.com/run4theirlives

To raise awareness of our work we will provide PIPS Logo T-shirts for the day as well as PIPS wrist bands and of course our collection boxes and buckets. This is a great way to encourage friends and family to get involved even if they aren’t involved in the marathon itself.

 

All that’s left to do now is Get Training!

 

Volunteers Needed Please!

We have a few bag packing slots booked in for December so we are looking volunteers to come along and help.

• Asda, Shore Road: Friday 16th December: 3pm – 9pm (2 shifts- 3-6pm and 6-9pm)
• Sainsbury’s, Forestside: Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd December: 10am – 4pm 

As this is just before Christmas we do need a lot of volunteers and would be grateful if you or anyone you know that would be interested to help could come along. Please email danielle@pipsprogrammes.com with your name and contact details if you would like to come and help.

Meet Santa!

PIPS are delighted to announce the opening of our Santa’s Grotto at the Flax Centre.  Come along to our enchanting & magical home of Santa. Not only will children get to meet Santa Claus, they will also get to meet his little helpers…The Elves !
There is also an activity area were the good little boys & good little girls can have their face painted, as well as enjoying some colouring in! Thats not all….the children will also get the opportunity to write a letter to Santa and post it in our Big Red Christmas Post Box that goes straight to North Pole. A photo will also be taken of the children at parents discretion.PIPS would be so grateful for your support with this show – as all proceeds raised from the Grotto will go directly back into PIPS Services that includes – Counselling, Therapies, Suicide Prevention Training….all helping to save lives!Opening Times For Grotto are as follows:

Monday – Friday : 2pm – 4pm & 6pm – 8pm

Saturday : 1pm – 5pm
Sunday: 2pm – 4pm

The Haunted House is Back!

After the success of last year, PIPS Programmes are delighted to have the return of the Halloween haunted house.
Be prepared to be afraid, very afraid!!
This is a haunted house with a twist! Not recommended for the faint hearted!

Thursday 27th October- Sunday 30th October 6pm-10pm
£3.00 a skull.
All proceeds go to PIPS Programmes and Divine Healing
